Cleansing the Mind, Body, and Spirit

AUGUST 16, 2004

I am ABRAHAM. Greetings. I am moved by your loving spirit and the way in which you welcome me back week after week. Your growing maturity level in spirit is always inspirational. You may not understand where Father is taking you, but you are always ready to go. It is quite a relief in anxiety to know that you need not manage the world. What a relief of burden in spirit to attend here week after week and know that you have the assistance of the universe.

We can be still and know that God is real, the Spirit of Truth moves among us and Mother awaits to direct energy. This comfort is indeed like a shield that would repel the worries of today. This knowledge is a strength we can use to wholeheartedly let go and allow Father. We each realize that many of today’s concerns are self imposed. We have expectations of ourselves, our lives, our levels of success in the spiritual and material worlds.

This evening our lesson is kept simple to keep with the theme of cleansing mind, body and spirit. As you live day by day you come to have certain expectations of yourself, to uphold what you believe to be best and bless you, you diligent followers of the Master, you give it your all. I realize the material world has its demands and you do your best to meet them. This however can be a trap for the animal mind and while no thing enjoys being caged, it becomes a weakness and something difficult to master.

Said Jesus, "Follow me. Have you an open mind and willing heart? Follow me." Do you see this opens a new perspective to the material realms? This means not to disregard mortal law, but to live a mortal life with a divine comprehension, perspective and attitude. Your anxiety of today is not to be blamed on Father, but really it is simple human experience, simple giving into the animal mind.

What burdens have you that are self imposed? Again said the Master, "In whom do you serve?" Need I keep a high salary position that causes me angst? Need I possess the same material goods as my neighbor? What is the legacy I leave behind? Need I spread the good news? Need I raise my children? Need I serve my community?

How do self imposed expectations and demands serve? It is written, should you desire, you can exchange your mind for that of the Master’s. This is not to criticize the mind you have, but to open possibilities you would not ordinarily see. The Master longs to show you a life of freedom, power, knowledge and ability.

This week in your moments of anxiety ask yourself ‘in whom do I serve.’ That is all. Next week I shall greet you at the celebration of our Master’s birth on Urantia. Until then allow the old to fade away while you make room for the new. My love is ever growing deeper for you each. Until next time, shalom.
